We’re proud to announced that the winner of the April Shropshire Finest Florist goes to…. Fifi Boutique Bespoke.
First of all could you introduce yourself?
Hi I am Fiona the founder of Fifi Boutique Bespoke. I am the creative mind behind the designs and installations, I have always been artistic and completed a Fine Arts degree before pursuing my career working with flowers. I have a wealth of experience after working in London for 10 years installing displays and flowers for Harrods in Knightsbridge, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Queens House in Greenwich and Merchant Taylors Hall.
Could you tell us a bit about your business and your typical style?
Fifi Boutique Bespoke is a creative business specialising in event floristry and styling. I strive to provide a personal service advising you every step of the way. The work is created in my studio based in Wistaston, where the magic happens. One to one meetings are organised to understand my clients’ vision, and to discuss concepts, flower types and display ideas. I see floristry as an artistic form which can completely transform the feeling and look for an event.
I welcome a variety of styles when it comes to floristry. I feel that the style can really change the feeling at a venue whether it be romantic and organic, sleek and stylish, or contemporary and modern.
Could you tell us about the arrangement in your entry?
My floral installation was photographed by the very talented Cara Green from The Little Paper shop at the stunning venue, Iscoyd Park in Shropshire. I wanted to create something with an organic feeling, trailing on the stairwell using apricot, peach, white and orange flowers. I wanted the flowers to compliment this beautiful venue.
What are your favourite flowers to work with?
All flower types can play a role in an arrangement. It is so hard to pin point my favourite flower, but I do love the beauty of the classic rose. I especially love David Austin roses.
Do you have any big plans for 2018?
2018 has been such an amazing year for me so far, I am very fortunate to have some really exciting projects ahead also! All of my wedding couples have been amazing and have been a real pleasure to work with. There are some great themed weddings which means I can be really artistic with the flowers. I am also getting married myself this year which is very exciting so I can completely relate to the couples out there. I have a number of stylist shoots also that I will be working on which is always fun and means you can be very experimental and think outside of the box with ideas.
We say: choosing which of Fiona’s creations to submit to the final proved very difficult! We loved the use of the candles to draw the eye to the bottom, with the flowers climbing up the stairway to draw attention upwards – stunning!
